Valentine Wishes

Hello there! I have never been a big Valentine’s Day card maker but this year has been different. With all the social distancing we have been doing for almost a year now, I miss “sharing the love” with hugs and affection. When you can’t do that with a physical hug then a hand made card can be the next best thing. 🙂

This card is so pretty in person!! I hope to be able to show you thru multiple pictures some of the beauty in this card.

One of the features of the card is the center heart. I found this among my stash, cut from some pattern paper I had at some point. It is an ivory color so it sets itself apart from the white background. The white cardstock front was ink splattered with Altenew’s Jet Black Ink Spray, after I used Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Plate: Woven and Go Press and Foil: Clear Foil (iridescent finish).

The flowers and leaves were cut using Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Plate: Calligraphy Hearts and a card that I had done some alcohol inking on a long time ago. The alcohol inks I used were from Marabu: Olive Green and Garnet.

This was such an easy card to make and so pretty! I hope you liked it!

The supplies I used: Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Plate: Woven and Calligraphy Hearts; Go Press and Foil: Clear Foil (iridescent finish); Altenew Jet Black Ink Spray; Hero Arts Nested Rounded Rectangle Dies; My Favorite Things Stitched Heart STAX; Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy Add on & Dies; My Favorite Things Int Rect Word Window; Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder; Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink; Marabu Alcohol Inks: Olive Green and Garnet Red; WOW! Opague Bright White Super Fine Embossing Powder; Versamark Ink; Black Cardstock, White Cardstock, clear sequins.

Alcohol Inks – You’re Amazing!

This card is so beautiful in person. The upper right hand corner looks like a delicate flower in bloom.

Hello!! Today’s blog post is featuring cards made with alcohol inks. Both cards were made with the same background piece. I used an airbrush to move around the alcohol inks. Alcohol inks are so much fun because you just never know what you are going to end up with…but you know it’s going to be great!

The supplies I used on these cards are: Ranger Alcohol Inks: Poppyfield, Pink Sherbert, Salmon, and Watermelon, Ranger Black Enamel Accents, Alcohol Blending Solution, Isopropyl Alcohol, Medium-weight Legion Yupo paper, My Favorite Things Stamps Happy Birthday Script Die, My Favorite Things Stamps YAY For You Stamp Set, Black Card Stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #110 Card Stock.

The contrast of colors on this birthday card is striking and bright. The Happy Birthday sentiment is four layers of cardstock, giving it dimension.

Snow Day!

Good morning! Well, it is looking like March is starting out the same way as it did in 2018, with snow, and lots of it! Here’s what we woke up too in MA today.

I took these pictures from my sunroom window.
Isn’t it beautiful?!….at least for today. 😉
Only 17 days until spring!!

Here’s a card I made back in January and feel that it is appropriate to post today.

Supplies: Lawn Fawn (teddy bear on skates from my “stash”), My Favorite Things Stamps Stitched Heart Stax, Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter, Lawn Fawn Hillsides/Snowbanks Die, Lawn Fawn Winter Village Dies, Echo Park Winter Snow A2 Stamp, Ranger Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Quickie Glue Pen, Concord & 9th Snowflakes Turnabout Stamp, Copic Markers, Versamark ink, Altenew Crystal Clear Embossing Powder, Life Changing Blending Brushes.

This side view shows the sparkly touch that the Prisma Glitter gives this card.

Have a wonderful day….and be safe.
