Christmas Cards – Day 1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of my Christmas Card posts. Last month as I set my mind to making some Christmas cards, it was my goal to try to use a new stamp and/or die set in multiple ways, rather than just make one card and then move on to another stamp set.

With this in mind, here are today’s cards. The featured stamp/die set is from Avery Elle: Snow Tags. You can find this stamp set at Ellen Hutson.

I stamped the ornament on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80 cardstock with Delicata Silvery Shimmer pigment ink. I also used Sunny Studio Stamps Holiday Style pine branches and stamped them once using Altenew’s Crisp Dye Ink in Evergreen and then once with Olive, shifting the stamp just slightly so that both colors were visible. I used the ornament’s die to cut it out, propped it up with foam tape and used Simon Says Stamps Wonky Rectangles Die to frame the card base. The bow was cut from cardstock that was colored using Versafine Clair ink: Glamorous, using Hero Arts’ Infinity Dies – Nested Cuts Ornaments. The sequin embellishments are from Pretty Pink Posh. I also used some silver thread to make the ornament look as though it was hanging on the tree.

This card was simple and easy to make.

The second card for today is another simple, clean and easy to make card, using a few of the same materials as the first card.

This card has a lovely background of snowflakes created from Carta Bella’s Snowfall (A2) stamp and white embossing powder from Stampendous.

The materials used in this card are: Avery Elle Snow Tags Stamp and Die Set; Hero Arts Infinity Dies – Nested Cuts Ornaments; Delicata Silvery Shimmer Pigment Ink; Carta Bella Snowfall A2 Stamp, Versamark Ink, Stampendous White Embossing Powder, Versafine Clair Ink – Glamorous, Craft Foam, and Neenah White Classic Crest Solar White cardstock in #80 and #110. I also used a Wink of Stella glitter pen on the ornament to add some sparkle and shine (I did this after the picture was taken.) The card base for this card is 3 3/4″ x 5″.

My third card using this same, Avery Elle Snow Tags Stamp and Die Set is a little more colorful yet still, simple, clean and easy to make.

I added color to the ornament using Zig Clean Color Markers in May Green and Wine. Rather than cutting the ornament out, I dry embossed it with the die.

This card was made with the same materials as the card above it with the addition of Versafine Onyx Black Ink, Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder, and Hero Arts Peace Love & Joy Stamp Set. The edges of the card base were colored by rubbing the Versafine Glamorous ink pad across the edges of the base on all four sides.

Well, I hope you like the cards.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

A couple of weeks ago I bought Altenew’s new Starry Night and Holiday Bow Stamp & Die Sets. I am really enjoying both of them and have a few cards today highlighting those sets.

This is the first card I want to share with you.  Here are the materials I used to make my card. The links are to the retailer’s website but not to the specific product.

Altenew Holiday Bow Stamp & Die Set, Altenew Starry Night Stamp Set, Versamark Ink, Ranger Silver and Gold Embossing Powders, Nuvo Crystal Drops in colors: Dandelion Yellow, Woodland Green, Red Berry, Caribbean Ocean, Blue Lagoon (Glitter Drops), Glitter Card Stock, Vellum, Navy Blue Card Stock, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #80 and #110, Hero Arts Shadow Ink Pale Tomato Mid-tone, Umbrella Crafts Ruby Red, Fun Stampers Journey True Color Fusion Cranberry Bliss, David Tutera sequins & rhinestones, and clear sequins.

My next card is so pretty in person because you can see the irridescent embossing powder in the background so much nicer than in the picture and it really adds sparkle and texture.

Altenew Holiday Bow Stamp & Die Set, Altenew Starry Night Stamp, Altenew Crisp Die Inks: Forest Glades, Heart Beat, Vineyard Berry, Espresso, Olive, Moss, Warm Sunshine, Black Gel Pen, Versamark Ink, Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock #80, and #110.

My last card is so pretty in person. I absolutely love the new Avery Elle Beautiful Bow Stamp Set. It is simply gorgeous when stamped on vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I am already playing around with new designs using it. 🙂

Gold Bow X-Mas Tree wm

Altenew Starry Night Stamp & Die Set, Avery Elle Beautiful Bow Stamp Set, Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, Umbrella Crafts White Pigment Ink, Vellum, Craft Smith Gold Noir Paper Pad (12×12) found at Michael’s craft store, Craft Smith Say Freeze Paper Pad (6×6) found at Michael’s craft store, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock #80, #110, Stampendous Clear Detail Embossing Powder.

When making this card I did not have enough matte finished gold card stock so I used a piece of 12×12 card stock that was a white and gold stripe. I cut the gold stripes out of it to use as a trim on my card. If you have gold card stock then you do not need the paper pad that I listed.
