Sending Love and Prayers- Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set

This card is a clean, simple and easy one to replicate. It uses Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set and some Altenew Crisp Dye Inks. I had one of the cards (unfinished) in my “stash” box and decided to finish it off with a sentiment and mount it on a card base. As a result I made 14 more and donated them to my church. I’m thinking of making more of them and just switching up the sentiment. It would make a great sympathy card or birthday card.

Supplies: Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set, Altenew Crisp Dye inks in the following combinations; Coral Berry & Grapevine, Orange Cream & Firebrick, Hydrangea & Andromeda, Volcano Lake & Emerald, Frayed Leaf, Gina K Amalgum ink, Versamark ink, Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles Die, Altenew Wishing You Stamp Set and Altenew Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

Make a Wish-You Can Do It-Just Breathe

Hello and welcome back to Treasures In Letters. Today I am sharing the first card I made for the recent AECP Educators Card Blog Hop (see my post for Jan. 18, 2019).

Supplies: Black card stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #110, gray card stock, Vellum, Altenew Dandelion Wishes Stamp and Die Set, Altenew Moroccan Mosaic Stamp, Altenew Pure White embossing powder, Altenew Crystal Clear embossing powder, Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder, Altenew Warp Speed stencil, Altenew Crisp Dye inks: Frayed Leaf, Evergreen, Forest Glades, Morning Frost, Lava Rock; Versamark ink.

How I made it: I started by rubbing Versamark ink on top of the Warp Speed stencil over Vellum. I then heat embossed with Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder. On the back of the vellum I stamped the dandelion wisps with Versamark and heat embossed with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I wrapped this vellum piece around a gray piece of card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″. I stamped (on Neenah Solar White card stock #80), 1 full-head and 2 half-head dandelions with Altenew Morning Frost ink then with Versamark and Altenew Crystal Clear embossing powder. I stamped the seed centers with Altenew Lava Rock ink and the stems with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Altenew inks. The sentiments were heat embossed with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. The card was framed by 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ black card stock then mounted on #110 Neenah Solar White card stock.

Have a blessed day!!

Make A Wish & Believe

Welcome back to Treasures in Letters, thank you for stopping by. Today I am sharing with you my second-runner up choice for the AECP Blog Hop that I participated in last Friday….so much fun!! And throughout this week I will show you some of the other cards I made on my journey to get to my final choice.

Here is my card for today. To make my card I used Altenew Warp Speed Stencil and dry embossed it in Vellum.

The Dandelion wisps were heat embossed on vellum and die cut with Altenew Dandelion Wishes Stamp and Die Set

To make this card I heat embossed 1 full-head dandelion and 3 half-head dandelions with Versamark ink and WOW Superfine White Pearl Embossing Powder (on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80 card stock). I stamped the stems using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen. I stamped the seed pods in Lava Rock.

I wrapped the vellum panel around a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ light gray card stock and used a tape roller to glue in place (in the back). I arranged my dandelions and taped down the full-head dandelion but used foam tape on the half-head dandelions. I used a touch of liquid glue on each of the vellum wisps to glue them down. I adhered the gray/vellum card front to craft foam then onto a deep green 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ card stock, adhering the card front to a #110 Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card base. I heat embossed my sentiment onto deep green card stock using Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder.

The supplies I used for my card are: Altenew Warp Speed Stencil, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen, Lava Rock, Morning Frost; Altenew Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder, Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder, Altenew Build-A-Flower Chrysanthemum Stamp Set, Altenew Tulip Stamp Set, Vellum, Deep Green card stock, Versamark, WOW Super fine White Pearl Embosssing Powder, Craft Foam, and Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110 card stock.

Thanks again for stopping by. If you’d like to leave a comment, the button is in the top left corner of my blog. Have a great day!!

Using Your “Stash”

Today I am highlighting a couple of cards that I made using a background that I created months ago and didn’t know what to do with it so I put it in my “stash”….the box you keep your practices, mistakes, and “I really like this but I don’t know what to do with it” stuff.

The cards feature My Favorite Things Stamps new Bold Beautiful Die.

The rich beautiful colors were created with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

The supplies for this card are: Black card stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110 card stock, Nuvo Shimmer Powders: Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb; My Favorite Things Stamps Bold Beautiful Die, Neat & Tangled So Many Sentiments Stamp, Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, and foam tape.

The lettering for this card came from the outline of my first card.

The supplies for this card are the same (as my first card) with the addition of Simon Says Stamps Wonky Rectangle Dies and Altenew Hibiscus Bouquet Die Set (for the sentiment).

Another Wintry Thank You

Today was my first day back to work after almost two weeks of vacation….I got so much done while I was out but, I have to admit….it felt good to be back 🙂

Today I have another wintry snowflake thank you card. It has a clean and simple look, I hope you like it.

This card features Nuvo Shimmer Powders which were used to create a background on watercolor paper. I saved the background in my stash and used it to die cut the word thanks and I also cut a strip and glued it behind the snowflake border. The color is rich, shimmery and beautiful!

Here are the supplies I used in my card: My Favorite Things Snowflake Dies, Wink of Stella Shimmer Pen, Versamark Ink, Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder, Black Card Stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110, Gina K Crystalline Drops, Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set, Concord & 9th Wintry Edge Dies, Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks, My Favorite Things In & Out Stitched Oval STA, Watercolor card stock, Nuvo Shimmer Powder: Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb, Altenew Inks: Sea Breeze, Aqualicious, Dew Drops, Turquoise, Concord & 9th Turnabout Stamp.

Wintry Thank You

Welcome 2019 and Happy New Year to everyone!

Today I was hoping to bring two new, wintery, thank you cards but one of them had a speck on its sentiment strip that I didn’t notice until I saw the photos. So I’ll share that one tomorrow… if I have a chance to rephotograph it.

Now that Christmas and the holidays are over, many of us have thank you cards that need to be written. Here is one that I made today for a dear friend of mine.

I just love this Concord & 9th Snowflake Turnabout Stamp.

This card features an inlaid YOU sentiment that has been built up with 5 layers of white card stock behind the snowflake top layer. Here are the supplies I used: Concord & 9th All About You dies, Concord & 9th Snowflake Turnabout Stamp, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Sea Breeze, Aqualicious, Dew Drops, Turquoise; My Favorite Things Snowflake dies, Nuvo Shimmer Powder: Atlantis Burst, Bue Blitz, Cherry Bomb; Watercolor card stock, Simon Says StampTiny Words Stamp, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #80, #110 card stock, and craft foam.

To make this card I used Altenew inks to stamp the Snowflake Turnabout stamp, changing colors each time I turned the stamp. I cut my panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I cut the colored snowflakes, the thanks, and the background of YOU from pre-created card stock that I had in my stash. This pre-created card stock was made using watercolor card stock and Nuvo shimmer powders in Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz and Cherry Bomb. (I sprayed the watercolor paper with water and then sprinkled the paper with a little of each color, spritzing with water and tilting the card stock until I liked how the background looked.) After die cutting the words thank and you from their respective card stocks, I cut 5 more of each of them in #80 white card stock, glueing all of them one on top of the other. I put craft foam on the back of the card front except where the word YOU had been die cut out. I glued craft foam around the cut-out YOU on the back of the card front. After adhering the card front to the card base, I inlaid the word YOU  and glued the word thanks and the white heat embossed sentiment in place.

Here is a close up:

The card was embellished with Pretty Pink Posh sequins and snowflakes cut from white card stock and card stock detailed with Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I also used a Wink of Stella Shimmer Pen over the snowflakes and thank sentiment (after picture was taken).
