Today I am highlighting a couple of cards that I made using a background that I created months ago and didn’t know what to do with it so I put it in my “stash”….the box you keep your practices, mistakes, and “I really like this but I don’t know what to do with it” stuff.
The supplies for this card are: Black card stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110 card stock, Nuvo Shimmer Powders: Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb; My Favorite Things Stamps Bold Beautiful Die, Neat & Tangled So Many Sentiments Stamp, Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, and foam tape.
The supplies for this card are the same (as my first card) with the addition of Simon Says Stamps Wonky Rectangle Dies and Altenew Hibiscus Bouquet Die Set (for the sentiment).
Today was my first day back to work after almost two weeks of vacation….I got so much done while I was out but, I have to admit….it felt good to be back 🙂
Today I have another wintry snowflake thank you card. It has a clean and simple look, I hope you like it.
Here are the supplies I used in my card: My Favorite Things Snowflake Dies, Wink of Stella Shimmer Pen, Versamark Ink, Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder, Black Card Stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110, Gina K Crystalline Drops, Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set, Concord & 9th Wintry Edge Dies, Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks, My Favorite Things In & Out Stitched Oval STA, Watercolor card stock, Nuvo Shimmer Powder: Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb, Altenew Inks: Sea Breeze, Aqualicious, Dew Drops, Turquoise, Concord & 9th Turnabout Stamp.
Today I was hoping to bring two new, wintery, thank you cards but one of them had a speck on its sentiment strip that I didn’t notice until I saw the photos. So I’ll share that one tomorrow… if I have a chance to rephotograph it.
Now that Christmas and the holidays are over, many of us have thank you cards that need to be written. Here is one that I made today for a dear friend of mine.
This card features an inlaid YOU sentiment that has been built up with 5 layers of white card stock behind the snowflake top layer. Here are the supplies I used: Concord & 9th All About You dies, Concord & 9th Snowflake Turnabout Stamp, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Sea Breeze, Aqualicious, Dew Drops, Turquoise; My Favorite Things Snowflake dies, Nuvo Shimmer Powder: Atlantis Burst, Bue Blitz, Cherry Bomb; Watercolor card stock, Simon Says StampTiny Words Stamp, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #80, #110 card stock, and craft foam.
To make this card I used Altenew inks to stamp the Snowflake Turnabout stamp, changing colors each time I turned the stamp. I cut my panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I cut the colored snowflakes, the thanks, and the background of YOU from pre-created card stock that I had in my stash. This pre-created card stock was made using watercolor card stock and Nuvo shimmer powders in Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz and Cherry Bomb. (I sprayed the watercolor paper with water and then sprinkled the paper with a little of each color, spritzing with water and tilting the card stock until I liked how the background looked.) After die cutting the words thank and you from their respective card stocks, I cut 5 more of each of them in #80 white card stock, glueing all of them one on top of the other. I put craft foam on the back of the card front except where the word YOU had been die cut out. I glued craft foam around the cut-out YOU on the back of the card front. After adhering the card front to the card base, I inlaid the word YOUand glued the word thanks and the white heat embossed sentiment in place.
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you had a nice Christmas/Holiday Celebration.
Today I am featuring a small stamp set from Altenew, it is called Billowing Blossoms. I kept the card simple in design and size. The card size is 3 1/2″ wide x 5 1/4″ tall.
The supplies I used in this card are as follows: Altenew Billowing Blossoms Stamp, Altenew Thinking of You Stamp, Altenew Invisible Alpha, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultra Violet, Silver Lake, Gray Denim, Morning Frost; Altenew White Embossing Powder, Versamark ink, Neenah Solar White #80, #110, craft foam, sequins, black cardstock.
Blessed Christmas to you all! Today is Christmas Eve and the last day of my Christmas Cards posts for 2018.
I am looking forward to being with my lovely family tonight and tomorrow. May all your celebrations be filled with joy and laughter….and of course, yummy food.
Supplies: Birch Press Grace Dies A, B, & C; We R Memory Keepers 3″ Circle Nesting Dies, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card stock #80, #110; Spellbinder‘s Glimmer Hot Foil Plate – Joy; Go Press and Foil Gold Foil, American Crafts Core’dinations Kings Crown Glitter Card stock.
To make this card you cut one of each Birch Press Die A, B, & C. Stack them one on top of the other and use liquid glue to adhere them together. On a piece of white card stock, use Go Press & Foil machine to foil the word Joy onto the card stock. Center and cut out the foiled Joy with the 3″ circle die.
Glue the circle in the center of the background die cuts. Put the gold glitter card stock in back of the card front then adhere to a card base. It’s that easy…and oh so beautiful.
Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
Well hello! It has been nice spending time sharing some cards with you during this Christmastime. Today I have a few cards that are very different from each other.
My first card has been one of my favorites this season for a couple of reasons, one being that it is so out of my creative style. I used patterned paper on this card and die cuts, no stamping at all. That is very different for me. The other reason this card is one of my favorites is, that it is so pretty in person.
To make this card I used patterned paper from DCWV-Christmas Cranberry; both the Christmas Tree pattern and the deep green cardstock. The panel was cut 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I also used Spellbinder‘s Glimmer Hot Foil Plate – Joy, Red cardstock, Honey Bee Stamps Deckle Edge Die (A2 Frame), Sizzix Thinlits Holiday Greens Die and Lawn Fawn Mini Wreath (for the Holly berries). The sequins are from Neat & Tangled.
My second card was inspired by an earlier card that I had made in this series. You will recognize it if you have been following the Christmas Card series.
The supplies I used for this card are as follows: Altenew Starry Night Stamp Set, Altenew Gold Embossing Powder, Navy Blue card stock, Brutus Monroe Sterling Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Hero Arts Nested Frame Ornaments Die (bow), Core’dinations American Crafts Red Flash and Silver Glitter card stock, Recollections Bling On A Roll, Recollections Adhesive Rhinestones, Nuvo Glitter Drops: Blue Lagoon, Nuvo Crystal Drops: Simply White, Gloss Red Berry, Gloss Caribbean Ocean, Gloss Dandelion Yellow, and Ranger Stickles Silver.
The supplies I used for this card: Deep Green card stock, Altenew Warm Wishes Stamp Set, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Parrot, Olive (not positive because I made the card last year) and Jet Black. Nuvo Crystal Drops – Gloss Red Berry.
Supplies: Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Plate “We Wish You”, Go Press and Foil Machine, Go Press and Foil Silver Foil, Green Card stock, Neenah Solar White #110, craft foam, Versamark Ink, Echo Park Winter Snow Stamp (A2), Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder, Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die.
Well, that’s all for today…and today’s almost over. Ooops.
See you tomorrow with the last card in my Christmas Card posts.
Only 3 days to Christmas, how are you doing? Do you have any more shopping to do? How about the wrapping? Is that done yet? 🙂
Today, I am featuring Neat & Tangled again. This time I am featuring their Scandinavian Prints Stamp & Die Set. It came out last year and I really have fun with it. The cards today resemble yesterday’s because the Tree Trio stencil compliments the Scandinavian Prints set and I used Catherine Pooler Inks on these cards, just as I did in yesterday’s featured cards .
Here is a picture of the whole set together and then you will see a picture of each card individually.
Each of the cards uses the following materials: Neat & Tangled Scandinavian Prints Christmas Stamp & Die Set, Gina K Designs Amalgum Ink, Brutus Monroe Icicle Embossing Powder, Altenew Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Ranger Silver Embossing Powder, Deco Foil in Gold, Pink Melon, Aqua (in some of the pictures the foil looks like black ink), Simon Says Stamps Wonky Rectangle Die, Craft Foam, and Catherine Pooler Inks: Tiki Torch, All That Jazz, Grass Skirt, Lime Rickey, Party Dress, and Flirty Fuschia.
Christmas blessings everyone! Yesterday I had the fun of picking out some chocolates to put in my family’s stockings. A little something different for each person, courtesy of Hilliard’s Chocolates in Mansfield, MA. What I love the most about shopping there is that they give out free samples while you walk around and shop. Yummy!
Today I have 4 cards that feature Neat & Tangled‘s Tree Duo Stencils. This stencil came out in 2017 and I had so much fun using them last Christmas that I went right to them this year.
Take a look.
I will post an individual picture of each of these cards but will do only one write up of the materials I used. All cards use Neenah Solar White, Classic Crest #80 and/or #110 card stock. (The center card has green cardstock also.) The sentiments were chosen from Neat & Tangled Joyful Sentiments Stamps and My Favorite Things Handwritten Holiday Stamp Set.
All the cards feature Catherine Pooler inks in the following colors: Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt, Flirty Fuschia, Party Dress, Tiki Torch and Versafine Onyx Black Ink (for the sentiments).
The last card I am featuring today was not pictured in the trio but has the same characteristics as the trio of cards.
Thank you for stopping by and letting me show you what I’ve been up to. 🙂
Hello and Merry Christmas to all! Are you ready for Christmas yet? I got a lot of my wrapping done Tue. night, thanks to my husband…he’s such a big help. I don’t think I’ve ever had my wrapping done so early. 😉
Today I am featuring a card trio using Altenew‘s Starry Night Stamp Set. This is a beautiful holiday stamp and die set that I have used over and over this holiday season. Though each card’s layout is the same, I used some different materials in each one.
The first card, center in the above photo, features Ranger’s red embossing powder.
To create the background on the card base I used Bristol White card stock and Ranger Distress Oxide inks (for the first layer): Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans and Black Soot. I blended the colors together using a mini blending tool and worked my way from the outside edges toward the center. For the second layer, I blended using Ranger Distress inks: Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, and Black Soot (Oxide). I was hoping to deepen the colors using the Distress inks over the Oxide inks.
The next step was to start layering the embossing powders using the Altenew Starry Night Stamp Set. My first layer was using Lawn Fawn White embossing powder, followed with Ranger Gold, silver and red embossing powders. I then rubbed the edges of the card using Versamark ink and used white embossing powder to crust the edges. For the sentiment I used Brutus Monroe’s Alabaster embossing powder and for the star, Altenew Gold embossing powder.
To achieve the wavy affect with the white embossed frame of the card, I used Fiskar’s Deckle Tear Edger as a guide for the Versamark ink.
This card was actually the first one that I made out of the three. I used only Distress Oxide inks on it and found that the background was not as deep in color as I would have liked. This is why I chose to use both Distress and Oxides together in the last card (which was the first one I featured today). 🙂
My materials were: Bristol card stock for the card base; Distress Oxide inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans, Black Soot; Altenew Starry Night Stamp Set, Altenew Gold embossing powder, Ranger Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder, Brutus Monroe Silver embossing powder, navy blue card stock for frame, and craft foam.
Ok, I have to admit that this card had a few experiments going on with it. It was the second one I tried out so I wanted to make it a little different from the first one (pictured above this card)… so I added a few extra snowflake bunches at the top of the card to see how they would look, then I worked on deepening the background color after the embossing was crusted on it. My takeaway on this is to use a brighter embossing powder for the sentiment. It will stand out better. It is beautiful just the same.
I have enjoyed the uniqueness of each card and the new things I learned along the way.
Have a wonderful day and take some time to be still and enjoy some peace and quiet, it will revive and energize you.
Today I am even more ambitious, than yesterday, with five cards using one main stamp set. Today’s featured stamp set is Concord & 9th’sSnowflakes Turnabout Stamp Set. I love this stamp set and will continue to make cards with it throughout the winter months ahead.
Let me show you my first card.
The materials I used to create this card are as follows: Concord & 9thSnowflakes Turnabout Stamp Set, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Sea Breeze, Dew Drops, Aqualicious, Turquoise, and Starlight, Glossy Accents, Imagine Crafts Sparkle Shimmer Spray, Neat & Tangled Wishing You Love Stamp Set and Neat & Tangled Sequins, Craft Foam.
The second card I have is the exact same layout only using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in the following colors: Pink Pearl, Rouge, Blush, Coral Bliss and Vineyard Berry.
My third card has an oval stitched cut out as the center focal point with snowflakes dancing around the edges.
Here are the materials I used to make this card: Concord & 9th Snowflakes Turnabout Stamp Set, My Favorite Things In & Out Stitched Oval STA Dies, Neat & Tangled Wishing You Love Stamp Set, My Favorite Things Snowflakes Dies, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Sea Breeze, Dew Drops, Aqualicious, and Turqouise, Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Aqua cardstock, Craft Foam, Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, Gina K Crystalline Drops, and Imagine Crafts Shimmer Spritz Sparkle.
The next card’s special feature is a Rose Gold Foiled sentiment on vellum.
My last card for today is playful and fun. I used pink embossing powder to stamp the snowflakes.
Here are the materials I used to make this card: Concord & 9th Snowflakes Turnabout Stamp Set, Nuvo Ballerina Pink Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Honey Bee Stamps Snow Buddies Stamp & Die Set, Copic Markers: B00, R46, YR04, YR07; Brutus Monroe Alcohol Marker 370, Gina K Amalgum Ink, Red Card Stock, My Favorite Things Snowflakes Dies, Black cardstock, Pretty Pink Posh flat irredescent sequins, Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass, Penny Black Merry Christmas Die and Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80, #110 cardstock.
After heat embossing the snowflakes on #80 Neenah Solar White cardstock I used the Distress Oxides to blend on the background. I splattered the background with water before adhering the snowman, snowflakes and sentiment.
