Alcohol Inks – You’re Amazing!

This card is so beautiful in person. The upper right hand corner looks like a delicate flower in bloom.

Hello!! Today’s blog post is featuring cards made with alcohol inks. Both cards were made with the same background piece. I used an airbrush to move around the alcohol inks. Alcohol inks are so much fun because you just never know what you are going to end up with…but you know it’s going to be great!

The supplies I used on these cards are: Ranger Alcohol Inks: Poppyfield, Pink Sherbert, Salmon, and Watermelon, Ranger Black Enamel Accents, Alcohol Blending Solution, Isopropyl Alcohol, Medium-weight Legion Yupo paper, My Favorite Things Stamps Happy Birthday Script Die, My Favorite Things Stamps YAY For You Stamp Set, Black Card Stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #110 Card Stock.

The contrast of colors on this birthday card is striking and bright. The Happy Birthday sentiment is four layers of cardstock, giving it dimension.

Snow Day!

Good morning! Well, it is looking like March is starting out the same way as it did in 2018, with snow, and lots of it! Here’s what we woke up too in MA today.

I took these pictures from my sunroom window.
Isn’t it beautiful?!….at least for today. 😉
Only 17 days until spring!!

Here’s a card I made back in January and feel that it is appropriate to post today.

Sending Love and Prayers- Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set

This card is a clean, simple and easy one to replicate. It uses Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set and some Altenew Crisp Dye Inks. I had one of the cards (unfinished) in my “stash” box and decided to finish it off with a sentiment and mount it on a card base. As a result I made 14 more and donated them to my church. I’m thinking of making more of them and just switching up the sentiment. It would make a great sympathy card or birthday card.

Supplies: Altenew Floral Art Stamp Set, Altenew Crisp Dye inks in the following combinations; Coral Berry & Grapevine, Orange Cream & Firebrick, Hydrangea & Andromeda, Volcano Lake & Emerald, Frayed Leaf, Gina K Amalgum ink, Versamark ink, Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles Die, Altenew Wishing You Stamp Set and Altenew Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

Thinking of You- Altenew Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set

Today’s card is another card that I made for the AECP Educator’s Blog Hop but didn’t use. I ended up cutting down the original card base and adhering it to a background.

The center square is framed with Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder.

Supplies: Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder, Altenew Dandelion Wishes Stamp set, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Moon Rock, Canson Watercolor card stock, Altenew Half-tone Square Die, Versamark ink, Mister water bottle, craft foam, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #110 card stock.

How I made it: Stamp the dandelions by putting ink on the stamp, spritzing the stamp with water, then stamping the image onto the watercolor card stock. Continue to do this for each dandelion and the stems. This creates a faux watercolor effect. Cut card stock down to 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and then rub the four sides of the card stock square with Versamark ink and heat emboss with Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder. Stamp a 4 1/4″ x 5″ watercolor card stock with dandelion wisps and Altenew Evening Gray ink. Stamp dandelion wisps on 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ card front using Altenew Morning Frost ink. Heat emboss sentiment with Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder. Mount the card front onto card background with craft foam. Mount card front onto Neenah Solar White #110 card stock. Finished card is 4 1/4″ x 5″.

Make a Wish-You Can Do It-Just Breathe

Hello and welcome back to Treasures In Letters. Today I am sharing the first card I made for the recent AECP Educators Card Blog Hop (see my post for Jan. 18, 2019).

Supplies: Black card stock, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #110, gray card stock, Vellum, Altenew Dandelion Wishes Stamp and Die Set, Altenew Moroccan Mosaic Stamp, Altenew Pure White embossing powder, Altenew Crystal Clear embossing powder, Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder, Altenew Warp Speed stencil, Altenew Crisp Dye inks: Frayed Leaf, Evergreen, Forest Glades, Morning Frost, Lava Rock; Versamark ink.

How I made it: I started by rubbing Versamark ink on top of the Warp Speed stencil over Vellum. I then heat embossed with Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder. On the back of the vellum I stamped the dandelion wisps with Versamark and heat embossed with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I wrapped this vellum piece around a gray piece of card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″. I stamped (on Neenah Solar White card stock #80), 1 full-head and 2 half-head dandelions with Altenew Morning Frost ink then with Versamark and Altenew Crystal Clear embossing powder. I stamped the seed centers with Altenew Lava Rock ink and the stems with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Altenew inks. The sentiments were heat embossed with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. The card was framed by 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ black card stock then mounted on #110 Neenah Solar White card stock.

Have a blessed day!!
