Using Your Stash
Isn’t this card beautiful and colorful?! I think so and I made it using some flowers that I had in my “stash”. This year I am really trying hard to use what I already own and to use some of the backgrounds and detail pieces that I have put aside for one reason or another. The process has really helped me stop needing perfection…as some of the pieces in my stash had a mistake or imperfection in them. And it has helped me to use and enjoy the stamps and dies I already have.

Altenew inks are so bright and cheerful! This layered stamp is gorgeous.

In order to make the sentiment stand out more, I cut it out 3 times, glued them together and then added a coat of black Enamel Accents on top of the die cut.
Supplies: Altenew Peruvian Lily Stamp & Die Set, Altenew Wavy Grid Stencil, Black Card Stock, Ranger Black Enamel Accents, Lawn Fawn Scripty Die Set, Sakura Black Gelly Roll Pen, Altenew Crisp Dye Inks: Vanilla Cream, Wisteria Hydrangea, Ultra Violet, Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Rouge, Espresso, Jet Black, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Neat & Tangled clear sequins.
How I Made It: I stamped and layered three lilies and made a batch of leaves (these were the pieces that were in my “stash”). To make the background, I used Neenah Solar White Classic Crest #80 card stock, vanilla cream ink and a Life Changing Blender Brush to apply ink over the stencil. I applied the ink lighter around the edges and darker toward the center. I die cut the “thanks” sentiment 3 times out of black cardstock. After glueing down the lilies, leaves, and sentiment, I applied black enamel accents over the sentiment and let dry. I used a Black glaze Sakura Gelly Roll pen to deepen the pollen buds of the lily centers and scattered some sequins. I glued the card front to a black piece of cardstock and then adhered it to a card base made out of Neenah Solar White, Classic Crest #110 cardstock.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate it!!
Beautiful card, Patty. And I agree that sometimes we don’t use what we have because we always want the newest stuff. But the Peruvian Lily is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing it, along with encouragement to use what we have! Except, of course, for the newest release stuff, which I must have—-LOL!
