Altenew AECP Level 3 Challenge

This morning (Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018) I held my first card making class for Altenew’s Educator Certificate Program. I had so much fun with my friends teaching them some basic stamping techniques then helping them complete two Christmas Cards. They had never done stamping before so it was eye opening for them to see the detail and work involved in the process. We all had a great time and shared some laughs too. 🙂

Here’s a look at the 2 Christmas Cards we made.

Level 3 Challenge Cards 10-27-18

To make both sets of cards we used Altenew‘s Holiday Bow Stamp & Die Set and Altenew‘s Starry Night Stamp Set, Altenew Crisp Die Inks: Heart Beat, Vineyard Berry, Forest Glades, Evergreen, Warm Sunshine, Olive, Mocha, Paper Bag, Espresso and Grapevine; Altenew Gold Embossing Powder, Altenew tape runners, Versamark Ink, and Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Other materials used: Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder, We R Memory Keepers Nesting Circle Dies, black card stock, and foam tape.

Level 3 Challenge Wreath Set instructions

I made a couple of tent cards to use as instructional helps for the card makers so that if they were ready for the next step they knew what color and what stamp to use.

After the class was over and we were cleaning up, the ladies in my class expressed their appreciation for having these instructional cards. They found them very helpful. I will use this technique in future classes.

Level 3 Challenge Practices-Cards Display

I also set up a table with cards that I have made while in the Altenew Educator Certificate Program for my projects as well as cards that I have made just having fun with my stamps. On the table I also made available some Altenew stamp sets so that everyone could see a sampling of the diversity Altenew has in their stamp sets. Lastly, I displayed my ink swatches and some of the practice sheets I worked on while in the AECP (to help my stamping get better) 😉 .

I’ve enjoyed the AECP so much!! Virginia Lu, AECP Director, has been such an encouragement to me from day one. She has been so patient with my questions, my fears with technology, and all along challenging me to move past my comfort zone and believe I can do it. It was especially nice to meet her and Nicole Picadura, Operations Director at Altenew, via Google Hangouts. The AECP has been such a great experience. I cannot wait to plan my next class.

Welcome and Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. To give you a little background about myself, I am a Christian, have been married for 33 years to my wonderful husband and I have two beautiful, adult, married daughters who are dear to me. I love to craft and find it relaxing, challenging, and a way to express a deep desire to create and make things with my hands. In the past my greatest joys in creating came from cross-stitching and sewing (I was a design major in college). But now I find it in paper-crafting, more specifically in card making. My other passions are bike riding, weight training, chocolate, and ice cream.
